Group yoga connects people with their instructor and with their fellow students through movement and breath. They enter in class as individuals and leave as a part of community. That is the beauty of it. The atmosphere of a group class is motivating and there is ample of help available from the fellow pupils. It’s like having a workout buddies.
-Here are some benefits to attend a group class.
#Creates community
When chanting “Om” at the beginning and end of the class , one would feel the same result. People are more in tune with one another because they’ve all gone through the same movements for the last one hour.
#Competition
This is the main reason I like to take group yoga classes. Competition helps you to push yourself ahead and cross new physical boundaries. Ofcourse, yoga is not for competition because everyone has their own body limits but you can do better than your limitations like you are encouraged naturally to hold your posture more than your companion.
#Motivation
While competition can be an amazing motivator, positive motivation and encouragement from people around you is also required. Having somebody cheering you can help you in moving on and maintain your interest in yoga practice. Hence, it helps you go beyond your original thoughts.
